Quotes by Marine Gosselin, DevRel @ Taipy
What brought Taipy to Quira?
Taipy was on the lookout for effective ways to enhance its visibility and community engagement within the open-source ecosystem. They’d experimented with hackathon collaborations and sponsorships, but found the operational processes cluttered, and the results lacklustre at times.
They were on the lookout for a more streamlined and impactful approach to bring relevant devs into their community and boost their standing on GitHub.
Upon learning about Quira's data-driven growth approach which matches relevant developers to repositories on GitHub, Taipy saw a promising opportunity to collaborate with Quira. ✨
“We had been experimenting with sponsoring hackathons with little to show for it. Partnering with Quira seemed like a potentially high-value experiment to try and supercharge our community interactions.”
What did the Quest look like?
Creator Quests by Quira are structured coding challenges designed to engage software developers by recognising their creativity and technical skills.
To bootstrap the audience of the quest, Quira reached out to relevant developers in their 45,000 community. The relevance was assessed by analysing their prior contributions and correlating them to the thematic of the quest. In addition, Quira held a Discord session with the Taipy team.
“The turnout on Discord and the quality of submissions were beyond what we had experienced with any hackathon. Quira's operational efficiency made this a hands-off, high-impact initiative for us.”
What was the impact of the Quest?
Over 3,000 open-source developers in Quira's community were introduced to Taipy over the course of the quest. The Quest yielded over 60 submissions. A positive side-effect of Quira's matching approach was that Taipy was able to collect over 350 GitHub stars from relevant developers.
During the Quest, Taipy trended on GitHub for Python ✨
“This is a really great product for marketing/developer advocates. Helps you with feedback, product testing and brings in developers who are super interested in your project and then show that on GitHub. Like a nitro boost for DevRels.”
Looking forward
The team at Taipy was pleased by the collaboration. The results delivered exceeded expectations. Most of all, Taipy’s team were thrilled about the quality and depth of product feedback they received from the developers that Quira brought into their orbit.
“The turnout and the quality of submissions were beyond what we had experienced with any hackathon. The feedback from the community was incredibly valuable and seeing our project trend on GitHub was phenomenal!”
